“People won’t know how to comprehend what they are seeing”

Gravity is one of the most anticipated films in recent years. The 3D & Dolby ATMOS-mixed sci-fi film is directed by Alfonso Cuaron and stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Gravity tells the story of two astronauts who become stranded in space and is said to push the boundaries of film making. The opening shot is reported to be a single 13-minute continuous take.

The film was shot last year at Shepperton studios, many members of thecallsheet.co.uk worked on the project including the Editor, Sound Mixer, Gaffer, 2nd Assistant Director and the Steadicam operator.

Recently screened at the Venice Film Festival, the first reviews are unaminous in praise - here are the reviews from Variety and The Daily Telegraph

The film is released on the 8th November 2013 so there is some time to wait, but here is the first trailer....

A test screening of a rough cut was shown in May this year and a spy for Aint it Cool News, Stanley Boobrick, saw the film. This is his reaction;

"Gravity is a fucking masterpiece.

This is not just next level shit, this is several levels ahead of next level shit, & quite possibly the highest level shit you could possibly make. This is like if Avatar had been released in 1927 a week after The Jazz Singer. People won’t know how to comprehend what they are seeing. In short, Gravity genuinely makes you feel like you have been to space. It really, really does. And guess what? It’s beautiful, and awe-inspiring, and profound (and a little scary too), everything you thought it would be since you first thought about going to space when you were a kid. The movie exploits dreams it knows every sentient being has had, using the best special effects I have personally ever seen. I honestly don’t know how you could enhance a cinematic experience more. – read the full article on AICN here

London post production house Framestore have been working on the project since its inception and provided the effects for the whole film. Framestore are no strangers to complex work, having contributed to Avatar, Skyfall, Harry Potter and The Dark Knight among many more, but when they completed their work on Gravity in November of last year, they tweeted;

The film is currently scheduled to be released on the 8th November.
