Working with Film Data Expert Stephen Follows, we are collaborating on an independent research initiative called The Film Office Toolkit.
A practical guide for organisations that manage filming on their land or property, giving them the insight, benchmarks and tools needed to run an effective and confident location service.
Combining interviews with experienced location professionals and over a million real-world datapoints on film income, The Film Office Toolkit will explain how filming is organised, what productions look for and how different organisations structure their work.
It will help organisations understand the landscape, improve their service and make clear, informed decisions about setup, growth and long-term planning.
This project is pre-launch as of July 2026 and the full support of Filming in England and featured as a keynote address as part of the Filming in England Summit.
